Subwoofer M 9500 SW THX Ultra 2
The M 9500 SW active subwoofer delivers on the THX Ultra 2 requirements: It can reproduce frequencies down to 20 Hz with no restrictions and set off enormous thunderclaps of sub-bass in rooms as large as 100 m2 at sound pressure levels that will surely shake your trousers. When it comes to sub-bass, THX knows no mercy.
In contrast to the previous M 11000 SW model, the two 300 mm bass drivers of the M 9500 SW are now arranged vertically. As a result, the height of the subwoofer has increased to a good 95 cm. To compensate for the increased height, the cabinet is now much narrower and can be easily placed at the ideal location in your living room or home theatre.
On experiencing the unbridled power of the full 1,200 watts for the first time, you will likely be blown away by truly spectacular and lively sub-bass produced by the M 9500 SW. Thanks to DPU reflex technology, basses remain clean and precise even at extreme volume levels and the air flow noise problem of conventional reflex openings is fully eliminated.

Satellite Speaker M 950 FCR THX Ultra 2
The front speaker in System 9 represents the fruits of our continuing development efforts on the classic THX Ultra 2 M 800 FCR system. As previously, each of these speakers consists of a tweeter/mid-range module enclosed by two 165 mm woofers. However, the M 950 FCR makes use of completely new drivers. The lateral drivers are ensconced in a frame of black material and utilise a flat diaphragm enclosed by an inverse, or concave, surround. Thus, the speaker surface is almost completely flat with no chance for troublesome reflections.
The two 80 mm mid-range drivers are also equipped with flat diaphragms. These are arranged in a D’Appollito configuration with the 25 mm fabric dome tweeter in the centre, which results in excellent, highly directional sound for all mid and high frequencies. Thus speech and film dialogues are highly intelligible, and spatial aspects and other details remain highly nuanced. As with the front speakers in the smaller System 6, these speakers also offer wide-angle dispersion so that several people sitting next to each other can all experience the sound panorama equally well.
Owners of plasma or LCD TVs will be pleased about the much slimmer design of the M 950 FCR. Compared to the M 800 FCR Now only 20 cm in depth, these speakers are much easier to install on a wall than their more heavyset predecessors.

Pair Dipole Speaker M 950 D THX Ultra 2
The M 950 D effect speaker contributes greatly to the surround sound experience of a home theatre. In keeping with the THX standards, these two System 9 dipole speakers are to be installed at the rear at a location next to or behind the listening position. Here, the two opposing drivers are not to be directed at the listeners but instead along the walls, across the room and/or against the ceiling and floor. This way, they create a highly diffuse sound field with a minimum of directional qualities. This same principle is used in movie cinemas where numerous speakers are installed along the rear and side walls to create the surround effect.
The M 950 D speakers are full-range dipoles that reproduce all frequencies from 80 to 22,000 Hz. With two 130 mm cone drivers and two 25 mm tweeters each, these rear channel speakers offer a dynamic and well-balanced listening experience. Now that the baffles are slightly tapered, the dipole speakers can be mounted to the wall for a range of applications. Whether the two M 950 D speakers are installed on the right and left side walls or on the wall behind the listening positions, they blend much more easily into your living environment. The switches on the rear of the cabinets allow you to choose whether to operate the M 950 D speakers in monopole or bipole mode.
